Hello, welcome to Rivas Media Photography! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy what you find. I always think it’s good for people to know a little bit about me and how I approach photography, so here goes.

I am a photojournalist at heart; it’s what I love to do. My favorite thing, and the thing that I strive to do with every shoot is capture people doing things in a unique situation. Sometimes it’s playing sports, other times watching a parade, or even getting married. One of the things about photography that inspires me the most is all of the small moments that can be caught in still form that I can string together to tell a story. Photography is what I know how to do, and to be completely honest it’s what I love to do.

Currently I wear many hats as a photojournalist. I’m the campus photographer for William Jewell College, a position that I created upon graduation. I also do freelance for the Sun Tribune Newspapers, Kansas City’s Major League Soccer Team, and the Kansas City Arts Council. Right now I’m working on growing Rivas Media Photography and expanding my weddings, in addition to finding the next creative thing I want to do with photography.
